The end of a trying academic year has come for the Class of 2011. South Africa is proud to celebrate with them the national 70.2% pass rate - an improvement of 2.4% from last year's pass rate of 67.8%.

A total of 512, 000 Grade 12 learners sat for their final National Senior Certificate (NCS) examinations from 17 October to 1 December 2011, and have done the country proud in their achievements.

These young people are the cornerstone of South Africa's future and as a nation, we wish all of them well as they prepare to embark on brand new paths and wish them everything of the best wherever their journeys may lead.
