Title: Parreira upbeat despite another draw
--------------------

Pretoria - Bafana Bafana coach Alberto Parreira has expressed satisfaction with the way the national team played in their international friendly against Jamaica on Tuesday night.

This is despite Bafana playing to a goal-less draw against the Reggae Boyz at a fan-packed Vodacom Park Stadium in Bloemfontein.

However, anyone who watched the game will agree that Parreira's boys could have easily avoided the draw, their second in a row, if it was not for the halfhearted performance from striker Benni McCarthy.

Jamaica was there for the taking in the first half, but Bafana failed to capitalize on this.

Skipper Aaron Mokoena did brilliantly in the 26th minute to stop the Jamaicans from opening the score when he booted off the goal line what everyone had probably already counted as a goal.

The home side showed plenty of fighting spirit but it all meant nothing if it could not be converted into goals.

With less than seven months left before the World Cup, Bafana cannot afford to continue with this kind of lukewarm performance. Also being draw specialists will not take them anywhere near the quarter finals, a miracle Parreira is said to be eyeing. - BuaNews
