Title: Ten-day HIV, AIDS education drive to be launched
--------------------

Pretoria - Today marks the start of a 10-day door-to-door campaign to educate Gauteng communities about HIV and AIDS.

The campaign comes ahead of World AIDS Day on 1 December.

Gauteng MEC for Health and Social Development Qedani Mahlangu is expected to launch the campaign at the Tembisa Civic Centre in Johannesburg.

She is expected to brief the media about the campaign as well as outline plans to mobilize communities to take a stand against the abuse of women, children and the disabled.

Today also marks the launch of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children campaign at the Union Buildings.

The campaign is expected to be launched with the lighting of the Torch of Peace by the Minister for Women, Youth, Children and People with Disabilities, Noluthando Mayende-Sibiya and the Deputy Minister of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs, Yunus Carrim. - BuaNews
