Compiled by the Government Communication and Information System Date: 27 Jul 2010 Title: Senegal ready to release more troops -------------------- Kampala - Senegalese President Abdoulaye Wade on Tuesday said his country would send troops to Somalia if asked by the African Union (AU). He was speaking on the sidelines of the ongoing AU summit in Uganda. "If the AU asks Senegal to provide troops, we will do it," he said. Earlier, leaders of the AU agreed at the summit to reinforce AU peacekeeping forces in war-ravaged Somalia. At the three-day, which ends on Tuesday, leaders from AU member states discussed the troop increment and change of mandate in the war-torn Somalia.
