Home Affairs Director General Mkuseli Apleni on Friday said Johnson had boarded a flight to South Africa on Thursday night despite being identified as "undesirable" by the department's Advanced Passenger Process (APP). The APP system, which is linked to Interpol, checks passengers against a list of prohibited passengers before they board the aircraft at their respective foreign countries. "This information was passed on to Delta Airlines with a specific request that she not be allowed to board the flight. However, Delta Airlines chose to ignore our request and allowed her to board the flight," he said, adding that the airline has been fine R10 000.
