Title: Military health officials assist at 57 hospitals
--------------------

Pretoria - The South African Military Health Service (SAMHS) officials have now been deployed to 53 hospitals across the country to provide health care while the public service strike continues.

The medical teams including doctors, nurses and emergency health care practitioners are assisting in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Limpopo, Eastern Cape, Mpumalanga, Free State and the North West, while other personnel have been deployed to assist with the cleaning of the hospitals.

SAMHS spokesperson Siphiwe Dlamini said a toll free number has been set up where non-striking healthcare workers can report incidents of intimidation. The number is 0800 86 44 69. - BuaNews
