Compiled by the Government Communication and Information System Date: 26 Jan 2012 Title: Zuma in Davos for WEF Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma will use the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, to market and promote opportunities that abound in South Africa's New Growth Path (NGP). The NGP is government's plan to promote growth and employment in key sectors such as infrastructure development, agriculture, mining, tourism and the green economy. Zuma is accompanied by several Cabinet ministers, including the Ministers of Finance Pravin Gordhan, Trade and Industry Rob Davies and Economic Development Ebrahim Patel. "The President and his ministerial team will promote international partnerships with South Africa to drive inclusive growth that will contribute to the country's primary focus, which is to eradicate poverty, inequality and unemployment and improve the quality of life for all, especially the poor," said the Presidency. This, the high office said would help to improve the competitiveness and productivity of the economy. South Africa will also use the meeting to promote the African agenda and the interests of the African continent. Amongst these is infrastructure development in the African continent.
